Featured Fabrics from William Morris

William Morris, philosopher, poet, romancer and theorist of the arts, was also an outstanding and influential designer.

Under his direction, Morris & Co grew into a flourishing and fashionable decorating firm, renowned for it's wallpapers and textiles.

Morris himself was responsible for the majority of the patterns with fine contributions from others, most notably J H Dearle who later became Artistic Director of the firm.

The Morris style initiated the Arts and Crafts movement and was popular in late Victorian "artistic homes of taste"

Today this characteristic style has never been more widely appreciated with the Morris & Co trademark signifying authentic versions and interpretations of those designs.
